A quiet guide to the royal game.
Place the opposing king in checkmate: a position where it is under attack and has no legal escape.
Each piece has its own character. Rooks travel straight, bishops diagonally, knights leap, and pawns advance with purpose.
Select a piece to reveal its legal moves, then select a highlighted square. Captures are marked with a ring.
Castling, en passant, and promotion are all observed by the club. A pawn reaching the far rank becomes a queen.
